This series is the result of our artist residency at Haus am Wehrsteg in Heidelberg curated by Mathis Bacht. The artwork deals with the location and the surrounding of the house which is wasteland due to the construction site and urban development in this area of the city. Wasteland stands for an abandoned, sad, and useless site, a transit area that waits for its proper meaning o a new use. We started to look more into details of this area and analyzed its different parts and compounds and everything which one does not see because the wasteland most of the time does not look inviting to enter. So surprisingly we found a very interesting and vibrant nature covering the wasteland with all kinds of forms and colors forming the origin for this photographic series. We collected a lot of flowers and plants covering the soil and took them into our little improvised darkroom to make a series of color photograms putting together the series.
